You will absolutely love this dark chocolate sea salt s’more cup recipe. A healthier version of campfire s’mores – no need to sit around the campfire, you can make these s’mores in your oven any time of year perfect for a winter or New Years dessert!
Antioxidant Rich Dark Chocolate. Graham crackers. Marshmallows. A healthier take on s’mores for a delicious anytime dessert that can be made inside or outside! S’mores have long been a summer favorite dessert, there’s nothing like roasting marshmallows over a campfire and sandwiching them between two graham crackers.
I like to say these s’mores are a little bit healthier. Did you know dark chocolate can help with an antioxidant boost, break off a square of dark chocolate! Also can improve blood sugar levels, and reduce the risk of developing diabetes.
We decided to try making some s’mores at home and to use the oven incase some of you do not have a fire outside to roast with! Who does not love an amazing chocolate & graham cracker combo? This dark chocolate sea salt s’mores cups dessert recipe has bite-sized portions, which are easy to make in your cupcake pan.
Ingredients:
3 cups crushed graham crackers
1 stick butter, melted
1/4 cup brown sugar
12 large marshmallows – i cut them in half
Ghirardelli squares or anytime of dark chocolate of your choice.
Pre-heat your oven to 325 degrees. Make sure your graham crackers are finely crushed, you can use a food processor, or actually buy them pre-ground. In a large bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs, butter and brown sugar.
In a 12-cup cupcake pan, firmly press mixture into each cup, leaving a space in the center. I used my thumbs to pack the pan tight. You do not want them to crumble when they are cooked.
Bake at 325 degrees for 8 minutes, remove pan from the oven and immediately turn on your broiler. Add first one piece of chocolate, then one marshmallow to the center of each cup.
Place pan on top rack in the oven and broil the marshmallow tops until brown and melted. Be careful, and make sure you WATCH this step as they broil. I usually always end of burning items as I broil umm I mean garlic bread like every time so I can not walk away and i have to watch the cook! 🙂
Enjoy Friends!! And have a wonderful New Years!!
