A special recipe just in time for Mother’s Day. I am sharing today how to make Edible Flower Crepes with my daughter Frankie. An easy recipe for a touch of color with flowers.
This is going to be so special with my first Mother’s Day as a Mama to more than just the farm animals! I am so blessed with our growing family. When I started to get ingredients to take pictures with for making this breakfast item Trevor said but you would never make yourself Mother’s Day breakfast which is so sweet of him to say. I think if anyone (or mamas) like this post then they can tag the special person in their life that is making them breakfast. I love being in the kitchen with my daughter here is how you make this recipe.
I also put together a cute little youtube video on how to make this. Visit this link to watch the Frankie & Christina Baking show continued!
How to Make Mother’s Day Edible Flower Crepes:
Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups whole milk ( you can use any kind even almond milk for this recipe)
4 large eggs
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
Add all ingredients in a blender, and add 1/3 cup of batter to a skillet coated with butter. Be careful do not let the pan get too hot! Cook until the underside is starting to brown, and then flip for another minute.
2 Sprinkle on some edible flowers after you add the batter to the skillet. You can find edible flowers at places like Whole Foods and farmer’s markets around your homesteads with such a variety.
3. Enjoy with your favorite toppings! We love: lemon and powdered sugar, nutella and banana, strawberries and whipped cream.
Edible flowers include citrus blossom, clover, daisies, dandelions, hibiscus, honeysuckle, lavender, lilac, mums, nasturtium, pansies, roses, sunflowers and violets, among others.
I walked around one Sunday morning with Frankie and these are the the edible flowers that we used were sunflowers, pansies, roses & nasturtium 🙂
There’s nothing like a Mother’s Love. ♥️ Today some farm friends and I are getting together to share our amazing family breakfast recipes with you in honor of the upcoming Mother’s Day celebration. i hope to always bring a smile to your face with all pictures I share from around the homestead. Thank you for following our homesteading journey.
Hugs, Christina & Frankie Rae
