Disclaimer: The drink is Paleo the chocolate rim with peppermint pieces are not. That is for decoration of the holiday season! Enjoy my friends this wonderful drink to enjoy by the fire.
This Peppermint Hot Cocoa recipe is Paleo-friendly, so it’s dairy-free, soy-free, and sugar free. As I wrote in the disclaimer just the drink is healthy. The chocolate rim decor is for the fancy factor. But don’t worry: this recipe is so rich, creamy, and satisfying, you won’t believe it is actually healthy. If you’re not a peppermint fan, you can just leave out the peppermint extract and enjoy this Paleo Hot Cocoa as is. It still tastes amazing! I promise this drink would be perfect enjoyed sitting by the fire wrapping or opening Christmas presents!
I never made homemade hot cocoa until recently and I can’t believe what I were missing! Here is a recipe paper for you to pin & print out for reference, friend!
If you like your hot cocoa a little creamier, try adjusting reducing the amount of water and increasing the amount of coconut milk until it gets to the desired creaminess.
I also tried pouring the mixture over a glass full of ice, and it was yummy too!
I’m all about using simple, as inexpensive possible ingredients when you have food aversions and restrictions. But if you really want an over the top amazing hot cocoa, you’ll want the canned coconut milk, because that is what gives this tasty beverage it’s rich creaminess you crave with hot cocoa.
